Job description

The HSE and Compliance Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the Health, Safety, and Environment programs at Safran Test Cells ensuring adherence to Corporate HSE standards while maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations. They will provide critical oversight of all travel related safety issuing travel advisories and developing emergency response plans ensuring the safe return of STC staff during political and public unrest as well as health related concerns locally and abroad.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • • Propose, develop and implement annual safety and health goals.
  • • Develop, implement, and maintain various safety programs to promote a safe working environment. Programs include, but not limited to: Fire Prevention and Evacuation, Employee-Right-to-Know, and Return to Work program.
  • • Responsible for creating all employee badges including maintaining the badge software system and ensuring building safety.
  • • Ensure adherence to Safran Corporate HSE standards while maintaining compliance with local and Federal OSHA regulations.
  • • On an annual basis, review and revise HSE manual to conform with Corporate HSE standards; manage PPE needs for all staff.
  • • Enforce safety standards at all customer and vendor sites to ensure a safe working environment for STC staff.
  • • Complete and submit all safety record keeping requirements as required by OSHA and Safran Corporate HSE in a timely manner.
  • • Identify potential health and safety risks, implementing safety training and other preventative measures for employees as it relates to their occupation and company security.
  • • Lead all safety and site security audits implementing corrective action as required in a timely manner.
  • • Identify, develop, implement, track and maintain all safety training required for various occupations as regulated by OSHA and European safety standards.
  • • Ensure travel safety for all staff by initiating the development and implementation of emergency response plans to safely expedite exits from dangerous situations both locally and abroad while monitoring corporate travel security alerts and communicating them to Safran Test Cells' staff.
  • • Actively participate in a continuous improvement culture providing recommendations and implementing enhancements to current methods and procedures.
  • • Other duties as assigned.


Job requirements


  • • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Management, or related field required
  • • 3 – 5+ years developing and implementing OSHA compliant training programs within the same or related industry required
  • • Experience with OSHA standards/regulations and record keeping requirements required
  • • Experience with OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards preferred


  • • Able and willing to travel up to 20%; both domestic and international travel to customer, supplier and corporate sites
  • • Advanced knowledge of various safety programs to include AWAIR, Employee-Right-to-Know and Return to Work/Light Duty
  • • Strong sense of urgency, solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with close attention to detail.
  • • Superior written, verbal, and presentation skills are required including the ability to clearly present information to a wide variety of audiences through trainings
  • • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; actively seeks opportunities to improve and promote quality and monitors own work to ensure quality is met
  • • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written with a proven ability to be assertive yet approachable delivering a positive customer service and team experience
  • • Self-motivated, organized, able to multi-task, prioritize and excel in a fast-paced environment while exercising initiative and judgment as well as making decisions within scope of assigned authority
