A new building for ACI

Our subsidiary ACI, located in Florida, will witness significant growth in its operations over the coming years. Specialized in the manufacturing of tanks for the aerospace industry, ACI has in fact positioned itself on a certain number of engines including the LEAP engine and versions of the PW1000G intended for regional applications.

One of the first challenges in meeting this ramp-up in production involved installing the production lines in a larger, more suitable facility. ACI found a 40,000 ft2 building located a few kilometers from its current facility in Fort Myers and initiated major development work to tailor the building to its requirements. The aim is to set up a production process that is in line with Lean Manufacturing principles in order to reduce production cycles as much as possible. Well aware of the challenges that lie ahead, ACI teams are working tirelessly to optimize the manufacturing processes, with support from Safran's Lean specialists and various training sessions. They should be able to move into their new facility by the end of 2015.
